Thank you for visiting our site to learn more about who we are and what we are collaboratively providing for the residents and vistors to the whole of the St Agnes Parish area on the North Cornwall coast.

The Background

Our organisation was formed following the huge success of the St Agnes Parish community collaboration relating to 'Community/Public Access Defibrillators' from a starting point in March 2023 of only 10 registered defibrillators we have a network of nearly 50, spread across the St Agnes Parish area.

Find out more detail on our 'Locations' page

The network collaboration was initiated in March 2023 by a St Agnes Parish Councillor, who is now one of the Directors, following a review of all the registered defibrillators in the whole of the Parish area, which covers 10,000 residents and a seasonal increase in population with visitors to the beautiful area on the North Cornwall coastline.

A Community Interest Company (Not for Profit)

A brand-new Community Interest Company was incorporated with 'Companies House', under the name of 'St Agnes Parishwide Defibrillator Network CIC' in November 2024.

The aim of this organisation will be to provide the long-term sustainability of the whole defibrillator network (CIC or Privately owned) and to provide further provision and public access to equipment which can support lifesaving outcomes, such as 'Bleed Control Kits'.

As a CIC, the organisation is now eligible to apply for grant funding and sponsorship, which it was not able to do when it was initiated by a Councillor in a Local Authority.

What we do with funds raised

Any funds granted, raised or donated will provide replenishment of consumables, such as defibrillator pads (single use, circa £80 each, 2024) and accessory packs (gloves, scissors etc. circu £5.00 each, 2024).
In addition to this, we aim to create a fund to replace defibrillator batteries (5-year lifespan, circa £300 each, 2024) and defibrillator units (8-year lifespan, circa £750 each, 2024).
We would very much like to not only replenish the equipment owned by the CIC, but also to the wider community defibrillator owners, should funds allow.

Our Vision

The aspiration is a CIC for the area will generate enough funds that all private owners may not need to 'Self Fund' consumables or replacement equipment when it becomes unserviceable. This will hopefully enable all defibrillator owners to be reassured that all of the defibrillators registered on the National Defibrillator Database 'The Circuit' (www.thecircuit.uk) can stay 'Live' and can be accessed by the public, via the NHS Ambulance when they call 999 and support

Bleed Control Kits

We have partnered with 'Bleed Control Cornwall' who are our suppliers of the current 'Bleed Control Kits' we are providing at many of the Public Access Defibrillator locations.
